Overview
Foth Infrastructure & Environment retained BNP for design and construction administration of the Des Moines Passenger Boarding Bridge Replacement Project. The project included replacing existing passenger boarding bridges and apron systems with new or modified aircraft parking plans.
BNP provided design and construction administration services to replace eleven existing passenger boarding bridges and upgrade associated apron systems equipment.
Project Scope
The replacement work involved replacing end-of-life passenger boarding bridges with apron drive three-tunnel bridges and new potable water cabinets. A primary goal of the project was to maintain and reuse the existing apron foundations where feasible, without negatively impacting the aircraft fleet mix at each gate, while also planning for a future terminal expansion project in which these newly designed passenger boarding bridges would be reused.
