BNP Associates is proud to celebrate a major milestone in one of the world’s most iconic airports — the groundbreaking of Singapore Changi Airport’s highly anticipated Terminal 5. The ceremony, officiated last week by Prime Minister Mr. Lawrence Wong, marks the beginning of a significant expansion that will support Singapore’s future growth and continue Changi’s long-standing reputation for excellence in airport design, operations, and passenger experience.
For BNP, the moment carries special meaning. The firm has had the privilege of consulting for Changi Airport Group since 1995, contributing to the growth and transformation of the airport over nearly three decades. As one of the leading consultants in baggage handling systems (BHS), BNP has designed the BHS for every terminal at Changi Airport, helping to set the standard for seamless baggage operations that support Changi’s world-renowned passenger experience.
Since 2013, BNP has served as the BHS consultant for Terminal 5 and is currently in the final design phase of the project. BNP’s scope of work includes not only design but also construction supervision, extending through post-operations review to ensure a successful launch and long-term performance.
Reflecting on this important milestone, BNP CEO Damien Breier shared: “I started working on Changi Terminal 2 as a project engineer at BNP in 1997, and it is incredibly fulfilling to see Terminal 5 work beginning years later in my role as CEO. Our strong relationship with Changi spans decades, and I hope it continues for many more. I wish the team a smooth project, and we are honored to be part of it.”
Terminal 5 represents a major investment in Singapore’s aviation future, with innovative design features and expanded capacity that will help Changi meet growing travel demand while maintaining its position as one of the world’s top airports.
As work begins on this exciting chapter, BNP remains deeply committed to delivering the expertise, innovation, and collaboration that have defined its partnership with Changi Airport Group for nearly 30 years.
